Speakers’ profile

  1. Dr B Kalyan Chakravarthy, Principal Secretary to the Government of Assam; Skill, Employment & Entrepreneurship Department

Dr Chakravarthy is a 1995 batch IAS officer in the Assam-Meghalaya Cadre. He has worked in several sectors such as Agriculture, Consumer Affairs, Environment Protection, Tax, Education, and has wide experience of Assam’s socio-economic sectors.

He did his B. Tech from IIT Madras and has an MBA from IIM Ahmedabad. He did his PhD from Osmania University. He is also a Law graduate and did a second MBA in Government Policy Making from the Indian School of Business.

  1. Mr Mayur Bora

Mr Bora is a writer, critic and a public speaker. Till 2021 he worked with NABARD from where he took voluntary retirement. He also worked as a Faculty Member in the Indian Institute of Bank Management, Guwahati, for a few years.

He is a prolific writer and till date has written 18 books. Besides that, he also writes in newspapers, magazines and makes regular appearances on TV talk shows.

He is a bilingual writer and speaker – in English and Assamese. He has delivered possibly the highest number of Memorial Lectures in Assam.

  1. Mr Bhaskar Jyoti Hazarika

Mr Hazarika is a Director of L K Tea Company Pvt. Ltd. His company produces

one of the finest Assam teas, by the name of Hookhmol tea. He is also a Member of the Executive Committee of both North Eastern Tea Association and Assam

Tea Planters Association.

Mr Hazarika, is an alumnus of University of Michigan, Ann Arbor and worked as an engineer at Boise, Idaho; and Sunnyvale, California.

  1. Rahul Ahluwalia

Mr. Ahluwalia is the founder director at Foundation for Economic Development. Before that, he has worked at CSF, the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation and at NITI Aayog. He has also done research on economic and social sector policy at Brookings India and the Indian School of Business, and also worked in the corporate sector in consulting and marketing roles.

He has an MBA from IIM Calcutta and a Master’s in Economics from the University of British Columbia, Canada.
