Everything has to start somewhere, India and China
should raise the issue in relevant international forums
to evolve a consensus. If it was possible to evolve a
consensus to standardise length, weight, time etc, then
is very much possible to evolve a consensus to standardise
currency.
----------------------------------------
Well, there are only benefits of having a common standard of length and
weight and very few downturns. (those include societal re-adjustment, have
you read about the "metric martyr")
But, for the powerful, the power to issue currency is the means to hold a
really strong grasp on the economies of their countries. Who can give up
power so easily ?
Democratic countries need to have something tangible to be convinced that
shfting to energyrupees helps the economy.
My question remains - what benefits will the pioneer countries have, in
order to convince others that shifting to energy works ?
----------------------------------
The pioneers can convince other nations, for most of
the developing countries global currency will be
advantages, even powerful western countries it will be
advantages. In fact it will allow them to make smooth
transition from fossil fuels to more environment friendly
energy technology.
----------------------
What benefits as a consumer will you receive in this case. Everything will
become more expensive. Energy costs will shoot up. You will be
short-changed for cooling in the summer and heating in the winter. Very
slowly there will be a shift to alternate sources, but they are not without
problems. windmills are noisy, solar takes up space. How can a government
which implements this remain in power for the next term ? In the next
elections, there will be demagogues screaming out - give us back our money.
Our sovereignity shall
not be determined by energy markets.
just a few problems

prakash
