I agree, losing Dewang Mehta will be a monumental blow to India's IT 
industry.  He is irreplaceable.  He was a true visionary.  He was the first 
to predict that India's software exports would surpass the $ 1 billion mark 
and he was one of the first to recognize the potential of IT Enabled 
Services.

He was trying to turn the slowdown in the U.S. into an opportunity and had 
planned trips to the U.S. to convince American companies to outsource more 
work to India.  I just cannot imagine anyone else being able to or wanting 
to fill his shoes.  No one would be willing to leave their high paying jobs 
at India's top software companies.
