I am unclear on just what this security clearance is supposed to
accomplish  (or prevent).
It seems reasonable to assume, however, that this is an attempt to
prevent said gateway
from being used to transmit "sensitive" information that could harm
India's  interest. This,
in itself, betrays a lack of knowledge about the way the net works. And
an alarming
willingness to throw out a healthy baby with a minuscule amount of
bathwater. By trying
to control a decentralised technology like the net, all that will be
achieved is the muzzling
of the Indian Internet industry.
