Min Wage Question

My own position on this issue is that of a fencesitter. Please answer
this question as I feel it is very important in resolving this issue.

How much impact will this issue have on the economy? In other words, if
we do have a minimum wage rule, there will be genuine industries which
were not exploiting but which will have to shut down. My own belief is
that these cases will be very few and therefore exceptions. Suppose we
do not have a minimum wage rule, I am sure there will be cases of
exploitation. Again these cases will be exceptions rather than the rule.
If this is the case, I do not think we should look at this issue from an
economic viewpoint at all but from a Human Rights viewpoint. Note that
I'm assuming that there won't be a great impact on the economy whichever
way we go.
