Brief history

- Total sanctioned strength of Board = 12

- Independent elections were conducted in 1999 to the Board by Barun Mitra of Liberty Institute.

- Seven active members remained as at 24 August 2003.

- Dr. Parth Shah was inducted on 25 August, 2003 as Trustee.

- Shashi Shekhar Vempati left the Board due to family commitments in mid-September, 2003.  

- The IPI board remained dormant for about four years from mid-2005.

- It has been revived from March 2009

- Shantanu Bhagwat has joined IPI’s board on 1 March 2009.
