<P>I wholeheartedly support the data shown by Krishna Tripathy. In fact,

<P>and ready to explode if corrective measures are not taken. Over the

<P>alarming, but this is being accompanied by growth in militancy and

<DIV></DIV>&gt;Please help make the Manifesto better, or accept it, and
propagate it!

<DIV></DIV>&gt;Dr. Rao's article is piece of junk. The His conclusion
<DIV></DIV>&gt;is based upon extrapolation of data by some
<DIV></DIV>&gt;"Bhatiya". If you the article carefully, you will find
<DIV></DIV>&gt; Hindu % growth Muslim % growth
<DIV></DIV>&gt;1961-1971 23.71 30.85
<DIV></DIV>&gt;1971-1981 24.71 30.20
<DIV></DIV>&gt; Now the data from first two rows is extrapolated by
<DIV></DIV>&gt;Bhatiya, to arrive at a conclusion that the decade
<DIV></DIV>&gt;rate of growth will be 30.71 (Hindu) and 30.55
<DIV></DIV>&gt;(Muslim), from 1981 to 2081.
<DIV></DIV>&gt; The point to be noted is the above extrapolation is
<DIV></DIV>&gt;already proved to be junk if you look at the census
<DIV></DIV>&gt;data, for 1981-1991, which gives rate of 22.8 (Hindu)
<DIV></DIV>&gt;and 32.8 (Muslim).
<DIV></DIV>&gt; There is no point in arguing about calculated data
<DIV></DIV>&gt;when you have measured data with you. Dr. Rao has
<DIV></DIV>&gt;tried to bust the myth using 20 yr old data, while the
<DIV></DIV>&gt;current data shows exactly opposite to what he wants
<DIV></DIV>&gt;to prove.
<DIV></DIV>&gt; Now, since the article is published in April 2000, I
<DIV></DIV>&gt;wonder what can be the motive behind not using
<DIV></DIV>&gt;1981-1991 census data in extrapolation?

<DIV></DIV>&gt; &gt; I have to agree with Mr.Venu Gopal.
<DIV></DIV>&gt; &gt; The article by Dr. Mohan Rao is a very good piece
<DIV></DIV>&gt; &gt; analysis.The article certainly punctures some lies
<DIV></DIV>&gt; &gt; propagated by extremists.
<DIV></DIV>&gt; &gt;
<DIV></DIV>&gt; &gt; I know many families Hindu/Muslim/Christian/Dalit
<DIV></DIV>&gt; &gt; (Iam
<DIV></DIV>&gt; &gt; not really sure if it is politically correct to
<DIV></DIV>&gt; &gt; include Dalits in to any religion- but that is a
<DIV></DIV>&gt; &gt; different issue altogether) who has more than 3
<DIV></DIV>&gt; &gt; children.And most of them are poor (some of them
<DIV></DIV>&gt; &gt; middle class!!!!).
<DIV></DIV>&gt; &gt;
<DIV></DIV>&gt; &gt; I personally like to think population is not the
<DIV></DIV>&gt; &gt; biggest problem. Poverty is.
<DIV></DIV>&gt; &gt;
<DIV></DIV>&gt; &gt;
<DIV></DIV>&gt; &gt; I would like to know from Sanjay how an entire
<DIV></DIV>&gt; &gt; university can be branded as Communist.

<DIV></DIV>&gt; &gt; &gt; Sanjay,
<DIV></DIV>&gt; &gt; &gt; Why and how does JNU become an untouchable?
<DIV></DIV>&gt; &gt; &gt; If you have any evidence , facts or arguments
<DIV></DIV>&gt; &gt; &gt; opposing the spectacular
<DIV></DIV>&gt; &gt; &gt; analysis
<DIV></DIV>&gt; &gt; &gt; of data presented by Dr Mohan Rao, you are
<DIV></DIV>&gt; &gt; welcome.
<DIV></DIV>&gt; &gt; &gt; I find this article very illuminating. Mind
<DIV></DIV>&gt; &gt; &gt; this is based
<DIV></DIV>&gt; &gt; &gt; on authentic public records. The article
<DIV></DIV>&gt; &gt; &gt; several
<DIV></DIV>&gt; &gt; &gt; myths being circulated about so-called high
<DIV></DIV>&gt; &gt; of
<DIV></DIV>&gt; &gt; &gt; growth
<DIV></DIV>&gt; &gt; &gt; of population among Muslims and the so-called
<DIV></DIV>&gt; &gt; danger
<DIV></DIV>&gt; &gt; &gt; of
<DIV></DIV>&gt; &gt; &gt; the Muslims outnumbering Hindus in no time and
<DIV></DIV>&gt; &gt; &gt; on.
<DIV></DIV>&gt; &gt; &gt; A brilliant piece of work indeed.

<DIV></DIV>&gt; &gt; Rate
<DIV></DIV>&gt; &gt; &gt; &gt; But this is from the JNU and therefore
<DIV></DIV>&gt; &gt; &gt; better than communist
<DIV></DIV>&gt; &gt; &gt; &gt; propaganda.
