More on Left, Right; and Liberal Economists

---------------------------------------------------------------------
Please help make the Manifesto better, or accept it, and propagate it!
---------------------------------------------------------------------
>Economists should NOT be interpreting the will of the people. That > >is
>not what they are trained and equipped for.
>All they must do (and are capable of doing) is to lay down the >immutable
>laws of economics

--- are any scientific laws "immutable"?

, and allow the politicians to choose from the policy
 >alternatives.

-- does this not make rather large implicit assumptions? that the
politician wants to make the "best" choice?
(he/she may merely want to get to or stay in power).

Interpreting the 'will of the people' is a difficult job
>at best, because: the will of the people is always open to >interpretation!
>Let us leave that to the politicians.

-- but don't they (and oughtn't they) differ?

Your post was not rude; far from it.

Subroto Roy.
