NGO initiative in Education

Please help make the Manifesto better, or accept it, and propagate it!
Draft paper on this subject in GOI has some v. good points. But too much
irrelevant stuff. Does not talk of completely transferring the power to
appoint and give leave, etc., to teachers to the management committees of
schools. Still a lot of role for government.

A good point: "it is important to keep the satisfaction of parents in mind."

Another:"financing an institution is not the main problem. What is far more
important is the way it is run ..."

Yet it still promotes the "National System of Education," ie.
standardization and the herd mentality, without giving flexibility and
freedom to schools to innovate. Also, believes NGOs can at best complement
- not replace - the current system. India has a long way to go before
quality education reaches the masses.
