Re: On Population

Week's Agenda: Population
========================================================

There is a strong economic argument that the size of the population is
not,
repeat not, a problem in India or elsewhere. The reason is that the
population
has most likely grown because people (especially infants) are living
longer
thanks to modern medicine etc. This is the very stong view of Lord
Bauer in
many works, as well as of the late Julian Simon and other classical
liberal
economists.

(Of course the urban upper classes don't like large numbers of
proletarians all
over the place but that is mere prejudice.).
